<head>Biographical Information
</head>
<p>Chelsea Adams grew up in Connecticut and completed a BA in English at the University of Connecticut. She received her MA from Hollins College in Creative Writing and English.</p>
<p> She, her husband and two daughters moved from Vermont to Floyd, VA in 1980. Chelsea then worked for New River Community Action as a home visitor. The next year she and her family bought land in Rhiner, VA and built a house there.</p>
<p> Professor Adams would then go on to teach at Radford University for over 24 years.

<p>Includes drafts and published copies of poetry, short stories, essays, as well as poetry and literature publications, and correspondence by Chelsea Adams. Various other authors that have items held in this collection include Laurie Cubbison, Julia Delbridge, Willie Everhart, Barbara Ewell, Louis Gallo, Opal Moore, Parks Lanier, Rich Murphy, Tim Poland and Rita Riddle. A video entitled Telling the Sum of It is also included as well as a photograph of the Selu Sisters and an audio recording entitled Voices of Appalachia.
