The papers include student's tickets for admission to classes held at the College of Physicians and Surgeons in Baltimore, Maryland, tickets for post-graduate classes, and a resolution of sympathy from colleagues following Gibbs' death in 1898.</p>  </scopecontent>

<p>Edwin Augustus Gibbs was born in 1857 in Lexington, Virginia. He graduated from VMI in 1877 and went on to become a physician. Gibbs died in 1898 in Washington, D.C.</p>  </bioghist>
