    <head>Biographical / Historical</head>
<p>Richard Rawles Woodward was born in 1905 in Suffolk, Virginia. He graduated VMI in 1926. During World War II he was a United States Marine Corps officer. After the War he was a businessman. Woodward died in 1982 in Suffolk.</p>  </bioghist>
