<p>This collection consists of one Civil War document (dated November 25, 1862) from Captain Albert H. Pettigrew to General Robert E. Lee. Pettigrew requests to have Private Snow of the 1st South Carolina Infantry Regiment transferred to his company.</p>  </scopecontent>

    <head>Biographical / Historical</head>
<p>Albert Harrison Pettigrew was born in 1840 in Botetourt County, Virginia. He graduated VMI in 1864. During the Civil War he was a staff officer and member of the 39th Virginia Infantry Regiment, Confederate States of America. After the War he was a businessman. Pettigrew died in 1891 in Bedford, Virginia.</p>  </bioghist>
