    <head>Biographical History</head>
<p>Jane Stuart Reid Venable was born in 1800 and died in 1834. She was the daughter of Andrew F Reid (1751-1837) and Magdalene McDowell (1755-1838). She married Samuel W. Venable (1797-1856) who was the grandson of Nathaniel Venable (1733-1804). Together, Jane and Samuel had several children, most notable being Major Andrew Reid Venable, Jr. (1832-1909).
Elizabeth C. Eggleston was the daughter of Joseph Dupuy Eggleston II (1867-1953), the 14th president of Hampden-Sydney. Elizabeth was born in 1899 and died in 1995. Elizabeth and Jane were distant relatives through marriage.</p>  </bioghist>

<p>Collection is open for research; access requires at least 48 hours advance notice.
