      <head>Biographical Information</head>
      <p>Baba Freeman (1927- ) and her husband Monroe moved their family to Reston in 1967, in the earliest days of the community's establishment. Freeman's involvement in all aspects of Reston area community affairs spanned the next several decades, and included roles in the Reston Citizen's Association, Reston youth athletics, Reston Interfaith, the Fairfax County League of Women Voters, and interest and involvement in transportation issues.</p>

      <head>Scope and Content</head>
      <p>The collection consists largely of papers that document transportation and community issues in Reston, Virginia. There are documents pertaining to the Reston Citizens' Association, the Reston 2000 Task Force Committee, Reston Interfaith and various other community groups with which Baba Freeman was involved or associated, or in which she had an interest. Types of documents include correspondence, memos, meeting agendas, reports, newspaper articles, maps, planning and transportation studies, and a few photographs. The records cover much of Reston's history, from the initial Reston master plan from 1966 to the discussion of expanding Metro into Reston and beyond to Dulles International Airport in 2007.</p>
