    <head>Biographical sketch</head>
<p>Mary Elizabeth Watson of Ridgewood, New Jersey was born in 1927 to Andrew R. and Elsie Buttery Watson. In 1949, she transferred from Stratford College to Longwood College in Farmville, Virginia, graduating in 1950 with a bachelor's degree in Physical Education. While a student at Longwood College, Watson was a member of the Athletic Association, the Varsity Hockey team, the Monogram Club, YWCA, and Cotillion Club.</p>  </bioghist>

<p>This collection was donated to the Longwood University Department of Alumni Relations by Mary Elizabeth Watson's daughter, Mary Lou Killian in August 2007. It is unknown when the collection was transferred to the Greenwood Library Archives.</p>  </custodhist>
