    <head>Biographical Note</head>
<p>The author of this letter is likely Austin Fenn, a soldier in Co. H of the 10th Vermont Infantry. Fenn mustered into the Union Army as a private and by the end of the war had reached the rank of corporal.</p><p>Source:
