<p>The collection consists of two letters written by "Mark," a Confederate cavalryman, to his father. The first is dated June 26, 1861, from Orange County Courthouse in Orange County, Va., and the second is dated August 19, 1861, from Leesburg, Va. Both letters detail camp life, cavalry unit activities, and general war news.</p>  </scopecontent>
