    <head>Historical Note</head>
<p>Center of Contemporary Architecture (C:CA) was founded in Moscow (2001) by the Russian Academy for Architecture and Building Science, Moscow Architectural Institute (MArchl), and State Institute of Art as a cultural non-governmental organization. Its mission is to support innovative trends in Russian architecture, serve as a point for creative activity in Russian architecture, develop a public consciousness regarding issues in architecture, and foster professional connections. It has been headed by Irina Korobina since its founding in 2001.</p><p>One of the C:CA's activities was the production of a weekly television series (2001-2004) titled Architecture Gallery which was supported by the Ford Foundation and authored and narrated by Irina Korobina. Episodes focused on issues such as urban development of European cities (especially Moscow), portraits of the world's and Russia's star architects, information on architectural events in Moscow and international events such as the Venice Biennale and the Pritzker Prize.</p><p>For more detail about the organization and its activities you can visit its English language webpage <extref xlink:actuate="onRequest" xlink:href="http://www.archcenter.org/en/" xlink:show="new" xlink:title="Center for Contemporary Architecture">here</extref>.</p> </bioghist>
