    <head>Biographical Note</head>
<p>Charles Ernest Cooke (1898-1975) was a professor of English and Art History at Virginia Intermont College from 1930 to the 1960s. He also taught courses at other universities and colleges during his career, including some courses at Virignia Tech. Cooke was originally from Owensboro, Kentucky, and received his degrees from the University of Richmond and Harvard University.
