    <head>Biographical Note</head>
<p>E.C. Wiley appears listed as a freshman in the 1886/1887 VAMC catalog. He does not appear in subsequent years. His name appears in the <title render="italic">Annual Reports of the War Department for the Fiscal Year Ended June 30, 1899: Report of the Chief Engineers, Part 3</title> as "master of dredge." No other information is available on Wiley.</p>  </bioghist>

    <head>Scope and Content</head>
<p>The collection includes a letter to E.C. Wiley (1904), a letter and receipt to Mrs. Wiley (1907), and two pieces of letterhead from Wiley's business used as scratch paper for calculations. </p><p>The first letter to Wiley comes from W. T. Adams of the W.T. Adams Machine Company in Mississippi. Although it seems to include a job offer, the letter does not explain the details. The second letter, written to Mrs. Wiley, concerns her return of a fox neckpiece to E. Albrecht and Son in Minnesota. </p>  </scopecontent>
