Note: The back of the portrait has a painted note that the artist is M[ary].W. Rasche. A printed note taped on states the artist was Mabel E. Mathews. Mathews is the correct artist (verified by family on 9/14/2017). Rasche was Mathews' teacher and is unclear who attributed the work to her.
