<p>Read and Montgomerie Journal, 1820-1827, records accounts of its customers in Bedford County, Virginia. It lists the debts owed and payments made by individual customers. It also includes Read and Montgomerie's legal expenses from law suits. The first twenty pages of the journal are missing. The volume's spine includes the initials "B. M." for Boyd Miller who was perhaps an agent for the company.
