Historical Information

Fredericksburg, in Spotsylvania County, was named for Frederick Louis, Prince of Wales, eldest son of George II. Fredericksburg was established in 1728, was incorporated as a town in 1782, and became a city in 1879.

Scope and Content

Fredericksburg (Va.) Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors Minutes, 1891-1892. The minutes document the founding of the Chamber, the organization of committees, and efforts to lobby the state legislature and U.S. Congress.
