Biographical/Historical Information

Samuel Jones was a resident and sheriff of Buckingham
County. While no military service record for Jones has been
located, he was at various times also known as Captain Samuel
Jones and Major Samuel Jones. His estate is listed in the
Buckingham County Personal Property Tax records in 1839; thus,
         he likely died circa 1839.
