These records are a good source of information for tracing early purchases of goods and services; local Lexington and Rockbridge County businesses/artisans/craftsmen appear in vouchers.

A collection of videos (some amateur, some professional) documenting special events such as matriculation, Ring Figure, graduation, speeches, and other topics relating to VMI activities and cadet life. The bulk of this collection dates from the 1980's forward, although a few date from an earlier period.

This collection consists of letters written to and from VMI Cadet C. Rodes Hood, Jr. (VMI Class of 1920) and his parents. The bulk of the correspondence is between father and son. Topics includes VMI cadet life (1916-1917), and details about the family's cotton business and life on Magenta Plantation, Washington County, Mississippi. These details describe economic matters, politics, race relations, and family news.

Miscellaneous historical Physics Department office records from period approximately 1906 - 1951, with some references to earlier eras. Includes file on laboratory equipment; list of all textbooks used to teach Physics at VMI from 1840's through 1954; and miscellaneous file of Professor S. Murray Heflin.

This collection consists of items related to Frank R. Pancake, including:

• Photographs and English class essays dating from his VMI cadetship (1934-1938)
• Personal letters (bulk to his parents), mementos, and photographs dating from his assignment to Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE) in the late 1950s
• Clippings from his time as VMI Commandant (1951-1954)

This collection consists of one three-ring binder containing organic chemistry class notes and other notes kept by Cadet George V. Atkison (VMI Class of 1940).
