Scope and content:

This collection consists of one scrapbook compiled by Samuel W. Dobyns that documents VMI's first Air Force Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) training camp held at Langley Air Force Base (Virginia) in 1948.

Biographical / historical:

Samuel W. Dobyns (1920-2012) graduated from VMI in 1941 and was a Professor of Civil Engineering.
