He was wounded at Seven Pines and Gettysburg, and was later captured at Five Forks. In June 1865, he was released from Point Lookout. He returned to farming in Carroll County after the war. ","Fielden Hale was born in Grayson County, Virginia, in 1814. He enlisted as a Captain of the 29th Regiment, Virginia Infantry in June 1861. He was discharged in May 1862. He was a merchant, as well as a Carroll County delegate to the Secession Convention. ","John Haymore enlisted with the 24th Regiment, Virginia Infantry in June 1861. ","William D. Mitchell enlisted with the 24th Regiment, Virginia Infantry in May 1861. He was discharged in July 1861 due to a broken leg. ","Abner W. C. Nowlin was born in Virginia about 1834. He enlisted with the 24th Regiment, Virginia Infantry at Lynchburg in May 1861. He was elected Captain in May 1862 and resigned from service in March 1863. He later lived in Washington, DC.","No biographical information was found on John Wilkinson.","The 24th Regiment, Virgnia Infantry assembled in June 1861 with men from various counties in southwest Virginia.
