During her years, she was involved in the Fencing Club as a team captain, she was the editor-in-chief of the Bluestone yearbook, and was elected historian of Zeta Tau Alpha. Additionally, she was designated by her peers and faculty to be a representative of Madison College for the \"Who's Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities\" as a senior and was also designated as an \"Outstanding Student\" by her class peers, among other organization involvements. After her time at Madison College, she earned her doctorate and was a faculty member in the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville biology department.
