The files on the apple sales came\n            chiefly from the attic of \n            Rosemont. They are chiefly bills and\n            receipts, and orders for apples.","Series II: Political, 1911-1932: \nThis series documents Senator Byrd's rise to political\n            prominence and gives a detailed picture of the formation\n            and maintenance of the Byrd Organization. But it must be\n            repeated that there is a gap for the gubernatorial years.\n            We assume material for this part of his official life is to\n            be found in the Executive Papers of the Library of\n            Virginia.","The chronology for Series II is by one year periods,\n            and, of course, alphabetically by topic and correspondent\n            within those time spans.","This material had been stored at Rosemont, and\n            practically every piece was rearranged.","Series III: Political, 1933-1965: \nSeries III contains material on Byrd's senatorial\n            career. They had evidently been boxed in the\n            Senator's Washington office after his death. Byrd kept a \"Reference file of other\n            people's speeches.\" This is arranged alphabetically and is\n            indexed. There is also another alphabet of other people's\n            speeches which was pulled together from various locations,\n            and is listed item by item. Secondly, there is a large file\n            of Byrd's speeches, 1920-1965, arranged chronologically,\n            which contains many original drafts with holograph\n            corrections, and mimeograph copies. Thirdly, is a section\n            of Public Statements, 1922-1965, which includes press\n            releases.","G. Scrapbooks, 1906-1965. Consists of 110 loose volumes\n            and two boxes. The first two volumes in this sub-series are\n            scrapbooks of \n            Richard E. Please contact the Archives with specific questions regarding access to such records.","The William Faulkner Collection, MSS 16807, also known as \"The William Faulkner Papers,\" centers on the life and work of William Faulkner, a renowned American author and a foundational voice in Southern Gothic Literature.  William Faulkner was born on September 15, 1897, in New Albany, Mississippi, to Murry Falkner and Maud Butler Falkner. Faulkner was primarily raised in Oxford, Mississippi. He left high school shortly after the eleventh grade in 1915 to work at his grandfather's bank. William Faulkner would go on to briefly join the Canadian Royal Air Force from 1918-1919 before coming back to Oxford, Mississippi and holding various jobs throughout Mississippi and New York until he published his first book, Soldier's Pay, in 1926. He married Lida Estelle Oldham in 1929, and together they had one daughter to survive past infancy, Jill Faulkner, in 1933. Faulkner grew in popularity as an author after the publication of The Sound and the Fury in 1929. Though a Mississippi native, William Faulkner moved to Charlottesville, VA, in 1957 to be closer to Jill, her husband, Paul Summers, and their children. It was during this time that Faulkner began work as the University of Virginia's first ever writer-in-residence. Under the leadership of Jeanette Lancaster, Dean of School of Nursing, 1989, the School of Nursing and the Alumni Association developed a vigorous partnership and created an Advisory Board in 1991 consisting of alumni, faculty, business and professional leaders who provide advice and support to the School of Nursing.","The aims of the Alumni Association, as stated by their by-laws (revised 1992), are to serve as a resource for nursing alumni, work closely with and assist the University of Virginia School of Nursing Administration through financial and organizational support, provide monetary support and provide opportunity for learning the Science of Nursing through sponsored programs. Please contact the Archives with specific questions regarding access to such records.","The William Faulkner Collection, MSS 16807, also known as \"The William Faulkner Papers,\" centers on the life and work of William Faulkner, a renowned American author and a foundational voice in Southern Gothic Literature.  William Faulkner was born on September 15, 1897, in New Albany, Mississippi, to Murry Falkner and Maud Butler Falkner. Faulkner was primarily raised in Oxford, Mississippi. He left high school shortly after the eleventh grade in 1915 to work at his grandfather's bank. William Faulkner would go on to briefly join the Canadian Royal Air Force from 1918-1919 before coming back to Oxford, Mississippi and holding various jobs throughout Mississippi and New York until he published his first book, Soldier's Pay, in 1926. He married Lida Estelle Oldham in 1929, and together they had one daughter to survive past infancy, Jill Faulkner, in 1933. Faulkner grew in popularity as an author after the publication of The Sound and the Fury in 1929. Though a Mississippi native, William Faulkner moved to Charlottesville, VA, in 1957 to be closer to Jill, her husband, Paul Summers, and their children. It was during this time that Faulkner began work as the University of Virginia's first ever writer-in-residence.
