Scottish descent.","The Society sponsors a series of annual events that are open to the public, including the Burns Nicht Dinner (January), Winter Ceilidh (February), Kirkin' o' the Tartan at the National Cathedral (April), Tartan Ball (November), and the Alexandria Scottish Christmas Walk (December). In Fall 2024 the materials were encapuslated, moved to flat storage, and the finding aid was updated with improved detail and formatting.","This collection is an eclectic grouping of maps and government documents transferred from the library's main circulating collection for reasons of historical significance or other considerations. Certain maps of Europe and the graphics concerning the Panama Canal were purchased and incoroporated into the collection, as well.
