He was also member of the Inter-American Bar Associations, the Atlanta Legal Aid Society, the Atlanta Lawyers Foundation and the American Judicature Society, the Selden Society International Association of Jurists, Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, World Peace Through Law, American Bar Foundation, trustee of the Atlanta Historical Society, director of the English Speaking Union of the United States, and the Atlanta Committee on Foreign relations. Mr. Johnson was active in alumni activities for fifty years.
