Mildred's fiancee was in the Navy and about to be transferred, so the wedding ceremony was performed on short notice. Guests were invited by telephone or telegraph and there was no photographer. However, the \"Richmond Independant\" newspaper did take a photo of the newlyweds right after the ceremony. The photo and clipping are in the album.  Mildred wrote how she met her future husband, a description of the wedding, and two pages about the honeymoon. She made entries each month about the highlights of that month for the first 12 months of their marriage.
