As a Rotarian, he was named a Paul Harris Fellow and the Rotarian of the Year in 1985.  He also helped found clubs in Mount Vernon, Annandale, Springfield, Purcellville, and elsewhere.  He was a director of local chapters of the Davis Memorial Goodwill Industries, the United Negro College Fund, and the National Conference of Christians and Jews, served on the board of the Alexandria Library, and was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church. He also begain eyeing politics around this time.","Colasanto served 4 terms in the Alexandria City Council.  One of his joys was performing marriages and loved giving advice to couples.  In one year, he married 800 newlyweds.  During his time in Alexandria, he was active in the Alexandria Lions Club, the Salvation Army, the Sons of Italy, and several other charitable organizations. Colasanto died on February 8, 1983 and is buried in St. Mary's in Alexandria. In one year, he married 800 newlyweds.  During his time in Alexandria, he was active in the Alexandria Lions Club, the Salvation Army, the Sons of Italy, and several other charitable organizations.
