There are manuscripts of fiction, verse, and local history written by Maxwell, as well as a number of his manuscripts and publications dealing with forestry which were prepared while he was a member of the Forest Service of the United States Department of Agriculture. Maxwell kept a diary during the years 1901-1919 while residing in Morgantown, Chicago, Illinois, and Washington, D.C., which is extensive for the period of World War I and which contains notes on the diary of Rufus Maxwell (1855-1907). Louistall and Malinda (Waller) Louistall. The family later moved to Clarksburg, West Virginia, where Louistall attended Kelly Miller High School. She attended West Virginia State College (now West Virginia State University), where she was a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority, which she remained active in throughout her life. She graduated with a degree in business administration in 1936. She later attended West Virginia University, becoming the first African-American woman to earn a graduate degree there, receiving a Masters of Education in 1945.","After graduating from WVU, Louistall worked at Kelly Miller High School and Roosevelt-Wilson High School. She was hired as a professor at West Virginia University in 1966, becoming the first African-American to serve as a WVU faculty member. Louistall retired from WVU in 1978. She was appointed to the West Virginia Library Commission by Governor Jay Rockefeller, serving from 1980 until June 1992. Guy Tetrick (3 January 1883-15 July 1956) was a native of Harrison County, West Virginia. As a young man, he moved to Clarksburg, serving as deputy county clerk, then later as county clerk and in various other civil positions. Tetrick was one of the founders, and later the manager, of the local newspaper the \"Clarksburg Exponent\". He was also involved in a number of other local businesses. Tetrick maintained a lifetime interest in genealogy and local history, the result of which was this collection, perhaps the most comprehensive private family history collection ever compiled for West Virginia. Tetrick was also a founding member of the George Rogers Clark chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution.","\n Willis Guy Tetrick, Jr. (23 August 1911-30 December 1995) was the oldest of W. Guy Tetrick's four children. He attended West Virginia University, graduating in 1934. He was a retired lieutenant colonel from the Army Corps of Engineers and was owner and operator of Mineral Property Management. He shared his father's interest in history and genealogy.","\n A dedication ceremony for the collection was held on 20 September 1997.
